Icons of Internet Shortcuts

I installed Internet Explorer 7 some days before and after that I found that
all my internet shortcut files have lost their icons. Even though they are
still associated with internet explorer but they don't display any icon.How
can I rectify this problem. Thanks in advance.

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache.
To make them permanent:

Reassociate the files to open with IE and shoul resovle your problem.
Do it through Windows Explorer / Tools/ Folder Options and then tab
Fiel Types.
