Hi,
I have something that is just plain annoying. I have Windows 2000 and
Windows XP workstations in my Windows 2003 Domain with Mandatory
Roaming Profiles. When the users log into the Windows XP machines
their icons are arranged nicely in the centre the way I like. However,
when they log into the Windows 2000 machines the icons don’t remember
their positions and are all listed along the left side of the screen.
This is particularly annoying because I have the icons originally
grouped according to area and there are a lot of icons.
If I modify the profile on a Windows 2000 machine and setup the icons
then they are unorganized on the Windows XP machine.
I would love to know where the registry setting is that sets the icon
location.
The weird thing is with my Admin profile that is regular roaming, I
have now got it to remember the icon settings on both Windows XP and
2000. Not sure how.
Cheers,
Lara
