Redirected desktop icon placement not save in roaming profile

Hi,

I am currently setting up a new policy for specific computers in our domain
(win2k3) and I am redirecting my documents, desktop and application data. I
am roaming the rest of the profile. The problem is the icon placements appear
to be saved on a per machine basis in the profile, not a per profile basis.
What I mean by this is, if by default the icon arragement on a machine is
A,B,C,D and i re-arrange them on machine A to B,A,C,D and log off and log
back on, it stays like that, then log off. If I then log on to machine B, the
Icon arragement is the default again, A,B,C,D. If I arrange them to C,A,B,D
on machine B and log off and back on again they are as I just set them.
Now if I log back onto machine A, the icon arrangement is as I set them on
this machine before, B,A,C,D.

This happens even if I delete all of the cached profile (manually) from each
machine, or even reinstall the machine, the machine which I set up the icon
arrangement stays with only that machine and does not roam to another
machine, but it is saved in the roaming profile, by evidence of reinstalling
and logging on and the icon placement being the same as it was before, but
only for that machine.

Why is this?

Hi,

Thought that if anyone else had noticed this and wanted a solution, I think
its due to screen resolution differences between the machines, I had 1 which
was a vmware image, running at a none standard resolution (fit to window) on
which was a laptop running at 1024x768 and another running at 1280x1024. I
have set them all to 1024x768 and now the icon placement works beween the
laptop and vmware image, not the other machine, so looking in to why that is.
