Icons in the notification area disappear

The icons such as the volume, touch pad, safetly remove
hardware and the power icons always went missing after i
switch on my computer. The only way i can get it back is
by logging off and logging in again. How should i solve
this disappear icons problem beside the usually thing i
do. please help me!!

Do you have "hide inactive icons" checked in the Taskbar and Start Menu
settings?

I had this problem, only for me logging on and off didn't help at all

I ended up having to create a new user, and copying all my files from one user to the other. Not ideal, but less annoying in the long term than logging on and off, and les annoying in the short term than a reformat and reinstall.
