Icons have appeared on desktop

Accidently hit the power button thinking I eas opening the A:\ drive.

A bunch of icons appeared on my desktop. (about 25)

I can identify some. I'm afraid to delete...

You are assuming that the icons represent shortcuts to programs!!!
There can be lots of other things in the desktop folder.

But you are right, he should tell the group what the icons are and
whether they are shortcuts or actual files.

was searching for a solution to my own problem and came across this thread. I
have a folder on my desktop which I created, and it is not a shortcut. At
least it doesn't look like a shortcut. I cannot drag it to the bin, I have
tried HijackThis and MoveOnBoot, but I cannot delete it. I also right clicked
