Icon Field in Outlook

Hi,

One of our users on E2K3 server, using Outlook 2000. When she first enters
Outlook, her messages appear with an unread message icon even though they
have been read.

If you change to a different folder in the folder list, say Calendar, and
switch back to the Inbox, the messages appear with the proper read message
icon.

This behaviour happens with only Outlook 2000. If the person uses Outlook
2003 or OWA, the issue does not occur.

Any ideas?

What option does the user have for how the Preview Pane behaves? Sounds like it is set to mark as read when the selection changes, rather than after a set period.
