I think there may be a 'beep' from my laptop

I think I may have a very quiet 'beep' coming from my laptop. I can't be
sure it's coming from there as it's so quiet it's hard to try it down.
First heard it this morning. If it is from my computer it could be 'quiet'
because I have my volume on nearly mute, so I've turned up the volume just
in case.
If I find it is from my laptop has anyone any ideas on how I can track it
down. The funny thing is that the other times I've heard it I was sure it
over the other side of the room! So I'm really stumped. I seem to remember
once linking a 'beeping' with the cmos battery but my laptop is only 5
months old so I thought it probably wasn't that.
I have now turned on SoundSentry hoping that if it is coming from my laptop
I will know for sure.

Desktop systems a single beep at restart,or start-up is normal,actually
confirming system is ok,id imagine laptops would do the same,any more
than 1 beep is getting you a trouble code for errors on the board.

Alright it's sorted now, it wasn't my laptop at all (thank goodness) my
husband had a new radio with a stopwatch etc in his kitbag and I tracked it
down to that!!!
