Hi guys, I just revcieved a new computer this wednesday .it has media center
edition but thats not the problem. i'm very pleased with te product. However
when i first turned it on there was all this stupid junk on it like
musicmatch jukebox. well i unistalled music match jukebox the first day.
however a problem cam up when i downloaded another program i use for
school(AutoCad)that irelivent though. when the problem came up i decide to
just "system restore my computer to after i deleted musicmatch. then other
problems started happening and i "system restored" again and again and again
a few times back to b4 i uninstalled musicmatch to see if i could fix the
problem but it wasnt work. so now whenever i open up windows theres a proplem
with my antivirus software(McAfee, came with computer) and i can't even
uninstal muicmatch again because of INSTAL.log?

Is there anyway i can get it back to the way it first came from the
factory. If anybody can help me it would be very greatful. cause i'm scared to
death i messed up my new computer. Plz Help.

Check the documentation that came with the computer and/or talk with the
computer vendor's tech support. They give you some means of restoring the
system, either an XP installation CD (less common now), a recovery CD or a
hidden partition on the hard drive with an image of the drive as it came
from the factory. The latter is common these days. Often times some
reminders will pop up when you first turn on the computer on how to create a
recovery CD. Again check the documentation and/or call tech support since
it's a new computer.

Different vendors do things different ways so I can't answer that. You have
to check the documentation to see what it does. If it restores an image of
the drive and wipes out everything that's on the drive during the restore,
then it will be back to the condition it was in when you received it.
Contact the tech support for a definitive answer.

It will restore your computer to the condition it was in when you got
it.

It won't keep you from being an idiot, however.

I suspect that you'll screw things up again. Keep that restore disc
handy.

And make a copy of it as well
