MY sound doesnt work !!!!!!!

i was using musicmatch jukebox to rip some cds onto my
hard drive. and it got all messed up. like it said not
responding. so i shutdown jukebox, and it started playing
like 1 second clips of the songs i was ripping.. but
doing it real sparaticly. so i shut down my pc .. and now
i have no sound. i checked device manager and it says all
my sound is working properly.. its not my speakers
because my stereo plays fine through them. something f'ed
up the sound on my pc.. can someone please help me !!! i
called hp support but they wanted to charge me 30$
