Hi,

I have deleted all accounts from my windows XP except for Guest and
Administrator.
I rebooted the machine and I could not log because Administrator required a
password.
There was no previous password before. I rebooted and started up in safe
mode.
I got in went to control panel --> user accounts and changed the password to
something
new. I rebooted and I am getting the same message after entering the
password. Unable to
login due to Account Restriction!!!!!!!!! I rebooted using safe mode and got
into
System Properties -> User Profiles and I found out two entries for my
profiles:

1- Account Unknown 2.70GB Local Local
2- HOME-91JJ37FW66\Adminitrator 99KB Local Local

Humm. What is that Account Unknown !!!!

Am I screwed royaly? How do I get into my XP without the Safe Mode. Do I
need to reinstall everything and lose everything?

I created a second user while I was in safe mode and I was able to get in.
I got in but I had no desktop icons. They are all gone. I went to
C:\DOCUMENTS and SETTING
and I found 4 directories (Administrator, All Users, MYOLDACCOUNT,
MYNEWACCOUNT)

MYOLDACCOUNT is what I deleted and when I try to open that I get a message
saying: "Is not accessible" Access denied.
I think I did lock myself out because I deleted the user. Shit.

No that looks normal .. you're not allowed to log in as Administrator (other
than in Safe Mode ) with XP Home
So login in safe mode as Administrator and create a new account. Then login
normally with that account

Could try this....(no guarantees)
Go back into safemode and login using the new user you created
Locate the folder you can't access and right-click it
Choose Properties>Security>Advanced>Owner
Click on your new username in the "change owner to.." section and tick the
"Replace owner on subcontainers...." checkbox....click Apply then ok
Then log in as normal with your new account and see if you can access the
folder .. you may be able to copy the info accross to your new account.

Probably a bit late to reply to this now - you'v no doubt done
something to recover yourself - but I would have suggested...
is it possible to do a RESTORE from some past date from "safe mode"??
that might have been an option - if t'were possible.
So what HAVE you done to recover your system?
Also... for future prevention... make sure you take regular restore
points, even if it's once a month, or something like that. the other
option would be a complete "C" backup by some means -like Norton
Ghost, or Acronis TrueImage, or Drive Image by.. symantec I think(used
to be owned by PowerQuest).
at least then no matter what takes place - your complete backup can be
used to restore the system. (these programs quite literally clone your
drive total and complete backup!)
