I had installed cd creator 4, I then received a error sayin that it coudln't
use this drive that it would make window unstable so I uninstalled but kept
getting the message about this drive so I went in and searched for this drive
and deleted it a little while later my cd rom did not show up so i went to
reinstall and couldnt' find the driver for my cd rom, then I restored to a
earlier date and when computer booted back up it wouldnt' and I can't boot
from disk because computer doesn't reconize the cd rom. can someone tell me
what I can do I even try to boot to safe mode but it goes to a black screen.
Also I dont even know if this could be the problem dell just install a new
hard drive but wasn't having any problem until I deleted this driver Please
help!!

I'm not clear if you're able to logon to the system or not. Meanwhile, read:

Ramesh the info you gave me would have been correct but instead of doing all
what is wrote I deleted that drive now my computer will not boot up or boots
up to a black screen. I uninstalled cd creator and still got the error
message so I deleted that drive they said was causing the error thinking it
was left from the cd creator but i should have changed it like it said in the
info you gave me, I restored to the earliest date but that was only to
yesterday because the day before a new hard drive was installed , I boot up
in safe mode or at least it says safe mode but the screen is black. I will
get in touch with dell, but I sure hope my cd rom didnt' go out to. What
luck!! :( Thanks

This Registry fix automates KB315345:

To tidy up, get a registry patch file, cdgone.reg, from
www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it, r-click on it and merge
it into the registry. Reboot.

You will then need to reinstall any burning software that you *do* use.

Uninstalling CD creator leaves loose ends, that can prevent CD and DVD
drives being initialised at boot. To tidy up, get a registry patch
file, cdgone.reg, from www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it,
r-click on it and merge it into the registry

You will then need to reinstall any burning software that you *do* use.
