I remove computer administrator

J

jose

I went to user accounts. and remove my self as my computer administrator by
error, and i can't use any more the previlege
as used to be. i can't even use the restore utility.
I set as adminitrator the other user, the one that is set up as for
..net passport or so I am not sure what it was but then I set my self as a
limited. when click ok I coudn't get back to find the computer administrator
in the user account.
How i can resolve back the way it was?
I tried with safe mode and it doesn't appear the part of the reset users
options. Though I'm still remaining as no administrator.
I have the original windows CD ROM
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
version 2002 Service Pack 2
Should I have to reinstall the system again?

the built-in admin-account cant be deleted
go to login screen and ctrl+alt+del twice
enter administrator in the textbox with a empty password
or log in safe mode (you can only use safe mode with administrator
account)So if you were logged in safe mode you have the administrator account
just create yourself another account with admin priveledges
excuse my spelling
hope this helps

At the Welcome screen in Safe Mode or regular mode press control+alt+delete
(twice) to get the login dialog for Administrator. If it wants a password
you don't have, get a password reset utility from the web. There are a
number based on bootable Linux disks. Clear the password for the
Administrator account and log in, then promote your account.

Thanks Thee Chicago Wolf,Eddy, and Patrick Keenan
the one with the tip of restart and type administrator login worked so I can
reset users options and I revert it to me to be the computer administrator.
this worked!
One of the first instance of the error was when I wanted to remove the other
user,
ASP.NET Machine A.. ,
that probably was installed with the last Framework update from Microsoft
that I don't know if is important to have it as a user and how was setup, by
default ?
The intantion was because I don't want to have the welcome sreen if you or
someone can tell me how to set it up.
In the users accounts I unchecked the Use the Welcome screen but when I
restart the computer,
appears again the welcome screen.
Maybe because the two users?
Should I remove the ASP.NET Machine A...user?

I WANT TO THANK TO ALL THAT PEOPLE
THAT WORK IT OUT TO HELP. thanks again

Yes, that ASP.NET account is from the .NET Framework, and should not be
deleted if you intend to use the framework.

Instead, just download Tweak UI, and set it to not show the ASP.NET account
on the welcome screen.

Then, add a password to your user account, and in TweakUI go into Login and
choose Autologon. You're done!

The password on your account is needed because by default, for security
reasons, the Windows Task Scheduler will not run on an account with a blank
password. So, things like scheduled anti-virus scans and backups will
often not run.

You can try to set disable welcome screen from the built in administrator
account.
Who knows it might work.Or just start another post "Unable to disable
welcome screen"You will get plenty of replies
Glad you fixed your initial problem.

Patrick Keenan, Thank you for the advice for not to remove the ASP.NET and to
use theTweak UI insted. I eventually will try with theTwek UI. If I do so, I
will post
the result. I have in my mind how nice people you are helping. THANKS TO
ALL OF YOU.
