I NEED SOME MAD HELP WITH BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH

L

Luke

Yesturday i was trying to download somethings on my
laptop when all of a sudden it just turned off. So i just
started it up again and when I opened up kazaa it turned
off again. This happened about ten times or so and then
when I tried to turn the laptop on again my screen showed
the dreaded blue screen of death. It was talking about
something dealing with not being able to load everything
up, as in there is too much. So it recommened that i go
into safe mode and delete everything that I could.
Unfortunatly, the same blue screen showed up whenever I
either tried to run safe more or regular windows. PLEASE
HELP ME!!!!! I do not want to waste more money on another
laptop and I don't want to lose all of my files.

Firstly you wouldn't need another laptop, you just might have to reformat
and reinstall windows.
I would do a repair install of xp. If the repair works and you get in, first
thing to do is get rid of that kazaa junk. That is most likely where all
your problems stem from. If you must illegally trade copyrighted material
try using winmx (www.winmx.com)
Repair install of xp:
Boot from the XP cd, and when prompted hit enter to begin setup. Press F8 to
accept the license agreement. It will then search and find your existing XP
install. Select it, and choose R for repair. Back up any important data
files if you can.

You most likely will not lose your files, but you have suffered some kind of
hardware failure. At this point, the sensible thing to do is to take your
machine in to a competent shop and explain to them what has happened. Inform
them that you do not have a data backup.

First off: You may have gotten a virus, like the Blaster virus, thru Kaaza.
Check in safe mode to see if you do not have a virus.

Second: You would now need to to a repair re-install of XP over the current
installed one. This will have to be done with a complete XP install disk
(not the recovery CD) and the level of XP CD must be the same as the
original installed version (If XP and SP1 was combined on the original
install CD, then you the same CD). If you do not have a full XP install
CD, just a recovery CD, the find a good computer repair shop. They should
have the experience to be able to recover all of your important files and
then re-install the laptop's XP. You will also need to provide anny/all
software that you would need to be placed back onto your laptop. Then, the
shop would place your important files back onto your laptop.

Third: BEWARE OF KAAZA!!! Several corrupt users have been placing viruses
into popular files. Not only that, but the RIAA is now sueing the users of
Kaaza who have downloaded/shared more than 1000 music files.
