I installed an Adaptec Combo Firewire and USB 2.0 PCI Card

I have checked BIOS no problems, I checked device manager no conflicts, the
speakers are plugged in there no other problems I talked to Adaptec there are
no problems with thier hardware. I replaced the card and put it into another
PCI slot. And since I put in the Adaptec card the sound has stopped. Can you
tell me what I can do I want 2.0 usb useage.

You're familiar with the problem so what you have written makes perfect
sense to you, but its not as clear to everybody else. I would guess you have
installed an Adaptec USB2 PCI card and have lost your sound-that right?
First is USB2 working? Next have a look in "control panel" then "sounds and
audio devices" and click on The "Audio" tab. Make sure that in the Sound
Playback box the default device is your sound device not the Adaptec card.
