Throw your computer out the window,,You are obviously too stupid to operate
it...Computer problems are 99.9% operator error which is where you fall
into...Vista is more stable and faster than xp ever was...

Well if dumping files into the recycle bin and it taking 15 minutes to move
them is user error you are correct. I think the only error here was you being
born. I think that yes many upgrades but many little glitches. So come on dow
so I can throw you and you dumb comments out the window.

One tends to get a little irritated with people's comments without info
which obviously my tirade got out of you.......What are you running for a
machine (processor , ram etc..) what other info or problems can you provide
?? No one can help if you do not post specs or error info...Please post back
with same ...Have you checked event viewer for problem messages or any
abnormalities that you suspect ?? Is this an upgraded machine or fresh
install ?? Were you having any problems before upgrade if this is indeed
what you did ?? I personally have not had any but EXTREMELY minor glitches
with Vista..(operator error)....See I admit it ...A lot of people will jump
right in and help but will not respond if you post something like you did
without asking.....I would be glad to assist if I can but cannot and will
not without more info....Your turn.....Just my 3 cents.........

Problems I am having is....

Moving Files from Folder to folder takes as long as 30 minutes ( files under
500 mb)
Same issue trashing items
COM Surrogate issues causing windows to restart.
General freezing when opening IE
That is just a few of them....

Inspiron E1505, Intel Core Duoprocessor T2350 (2MB/1.86GHz/ 533MHz)
1GB, DDR2, 533MHz
256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1400 HyperMemory
120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition

I will research this asap...However it would not hurt at all (and probably
will get you more and better responses) if you would kindly repost your
question with a new title instead of "I hate Vista"...also please post
whether this was an upgrade from xp or not...Thanks for your response

Okay I snipped some to remove the irrelevant.

One thing that seemed to help here was right click on drive icon, go
properties and remove the check mark in "Index this drive". It did
nothing to speed up searching but did slow the disk access horrendously.
May not be relevant but worth a try since it costs nothing :)

Was this a nbew install or an update, I don't see where you mentioned
that. If not new then there may be a problem from something that was
there before. Don't know what to suggest for that to be positive unless
you have a spare drive to try a clean install on.

There has been some discussion to the effect that Windows Explorer is
real slow in some cases. It is for me, it seems it just "Is" for some
people and there doesn't seem to be an MS explanation for it. What you
could try though is visit the maker's websites (Motherboard, any other
boards etc) and see if there are any newer drivers available. My chipset
IO seems much worse with the original supplied drivers, but of course
new is not always "Better" with chip drivers.

I see a lot of the revolving circle icon (Hourglass). God only know's
what it is doing, there's no disk access visible etc, but usually this
doen not cripple performace. Sometimes it does but not always.

You might try an explorer substitute and see if that improves things.

If you just want to rant go in your back yard and have at it.

Your "help" so far has been limited to whining, bitching and telling
people to install drivers. Wow, I'm impressed with you "knowledge". Of
course that's as advanced as some typical fanboy like you has
progressed.

ROTFLMAO!

More rants from the village idiot. And your post is helping. ROTFLMAO!

humm, don't know who drew is but what he said was out of line, i know a lot
of people who aren't good with computers, i don't call them stupid or think
of them as stupid, knowing about computers is a gift, for example, when
people in tampa, fl call me to fix there computer, i can just look at it,
while the computer is off and i'm able to tell them what the problem is, and
99.9% i'm right. i'm not higher than they are, it just come to me, i've
always worked around pc, that's what i love, and what i do, it's not because
someone doesn't have a gift like mine or that his hobby is different from
mine(mine is pc of course) that's make him stupid.

i think he should appologies, but i really daught he will.

can i join in? I hate vista too. Luckily i kept my old computer with xp which i do all my necessary work on, as it would take far to long to do on vista,( i only use vista when i have a lot of spare time on my hands. ) Please dont call me stupid, as someone was called, maybe i was just naive thinking that vista would be a great step forward. All i have done since getting it is trolled around sites looking for updated drivers for my hardware, downloading them, installing them, just for them not to work, and start all over again. I have spent a lot of money on my hardware and dont think its fair that i should have to spend my time (which is money) hunting around on behalf of some multi billionare company looking for alternatives, maybe they should be a lit bit more forthcoming.

I would suggest that you think about what you typed as several vendors still
sell xp computers....For that fact you can build a much higher end computer
with xp than for a comparable "store bought" vista machine...If you bought a
computer from a store and have had nothing but problems than once again I
state ,,"Operator error !!"...There is no way I would not have taken it back
and demanded my money back or had it replaced ,,repaired or whatever it took
to get a good working computer...As I have stated I will put this Vista
machine up against a xp machine any day this one will beat it for
speed,,security,,stability and just about anything else...I still have my xp
box that my wife now uses...It is formatted and a fresh install of xp every
yr it runs a 3gig intel processor and 2gigs of ddr400 in it and it does not
compare to this machine...It is fast and pretty stable just not as fast
