I get the "work offline" dialog box often

I am using win98se with ie6+. I run the bare minimun on
windows programs for my computer. I have dsl so I'm on the
internet fulltime. Each time I open a new browser I get
the challange that I am not connected to the internet and
do I want to "work offline" or "try again". This comes up
almost everytime I start to browse. Is there a way to set
the default to work online?

Yep, there's a way: In IE, go to Tools, Internet Options,
and go to the Connections tab. In the middle of this
option group, select either "Dial whenever a network
connection is not present" or "Never dial a connection".
That should rid of that annoying problem for you.

Thank you for the response, but it didn't work. Any others?

I tried the suggestion where I chec "Dial whenever a
network connection is not present" and then my computer
dials through my modem and only chooses the modem
connection not the LAN/dsl connection even though the
LAN/dsl is live. If I am on "never Dial a connection"
setting I get the "Work Offline" challange dialog box
everytime a new window opens.
