i get an unrecoverable error when i start int expl

When I click on internet explorer, I get one of those messages that asks me if i want to send an error report to microsoft. I click on it and nothing has come back, Does anyone know what is causing this problem? Why will it not let me get to the internet? Thank

This is the same problem several of us are having (see "IP 6 problem," a few lines down). Someone on this list recommended right-clicking on IE icon, go to Advanced, uncheck Enable 3rd party browser exceptions, click Apply, reboot.

I've looked thru all the microsoft support and there's no other specific help on this. I may resort to doing a clean system install.
