general protection fault error

whenever I try to use internet explorer while using compuserve
I get the following error: I. expl. caused a general
protection fault in user exe at 0004:00001f2d"

I have no problems whenever I open I.E. using peoples pc
internet provider.

I've tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and
re-installing the internet adapter like compuserve
instructed, but it didn't help.

Any Help Would be Appreciated,
