MSIMN...protection fault in...MMSYSTEM.dll...

I'm getting a "MSIMN caused a general protection fault in
module MMSTYSTEM.DLL@0004:00000dbl" error when trying to
open up Outlook Express on a Windows 98 computer. Then I
get the "screen of death" and have to turn off the
computer. Can anyone help me resolve this problem?
