Right-click on your Desktop and select:
Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop >
General Tab, then click once on the Recycle
Bin (empty) icon, then click OK and Apply.

The Recycle Bin has erased itself !? FRSNK, that's a problem for
Einstein's friends and quantum physics not windowsxp.general.

Instead, try the alt.physics.quantum.recycle_singularity newgroup.

LOL... wow!!! amazing... how many answers!!! LOVE IT!!!

I am used to go to the French/Spanish Newsgroups ( 'cause I am in France and
my mother tongue is spanish) but I am definitively gonna switch to the
english newsgroups!!!!

However, I tried to put it back from the Display Settings -> Customize...
and it did not work...

I'm gonna try the Rock's option from Kelly's site... :) will let you know..

Actually I got the answer from a french newsgroup...

Get into the registry... find the key named:
Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Deskto
p
Right click on it on the NameSpace folder, option New -> Key
Create a new key called: {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
Close the registry and then push on F5 to refresh the desktop..
Voilà... the recycle bin is back!!!!

Thanks anyway... :)

Don't know what really happened... one day I got back on my computer and the
Recycle Bin was gone. I suppose I could've accidentally deleted it. But
curiously, when I tried to find my Recycle Bin folder that is also nowhere to
be found either. At any rate, I've been trying to recover the bin (and maybe
the folder too) the last several days. I tried TweakUI and the registry edit
suggested here, but still no luck on recovering my Recycle Bin. I would
greatly appreciate if anyone has any other ideas. Thanks.

Right click the desktop and go to Properties. Click on the Desktop tab, and
then on the Customize button.
