My computer icon???

Using XP Home. I always choose "wondows classic" which puts the My Computer
icon on the desktop. By mistake I deleted this icon. Someone please let me
know how put the My Computer icon back on the desktop. Oh, by the way, the
icon that I deleted is not in the recycle bin.

Right-click on an empty area of the desktop background.
Choose "Properties" from the menu.
Select the "Desktop" tab.
Click on the "Customize Desktop..." button at the bottom area of that
window.
Under the "General" tab, make sure the "My Computer" checkbox is checked.
(If it is... Uncheck it, click Apply, Check it again, click APPLY..)
Once it is checked, click OK.
Click OK.
It should be on your desktop again.

Click start and then right-click on "My Computer". Move down to "show on
desktop" and make sure it is clicked.

Assuming that 'My Computer' is still available on the 'Start' menu, you
should be able to simply drag it from there onto your desktop.

Hi. Since you're using the Classic Start Menu, change it back to the default Start Menu. Then you can either drag the My Computer icon to the Desktop or right click the My Computer icon and click the Show On Desktop option. After that you can switch back to the Classic Start Menu option.
