I change sound for new mail alert but sound reverts to bullet defa

I have done exactly as recommended but I cannot change (i.e. save my chnage)
the sound alert for new mail (I hate the bulletfire default on my pc). I do
the recommended: Settings - control panel - sounds and audio devices- events
- sounds - o.k. but it doesn't work.

Anyone have any ideas?

This is an ACCESS newsgroup. Access is a database application that is part
of MS Office Professional. Your question seems related to a Windows
setting. I'd ask in a Windows newsgroup that deals with the sound in
control panel.
