Test your login details here:

Use the forgotten password link if needed?

Hi Desperate Chick

Did you manage to figure out what was causing this? I am having a similar
problem to yours today, where I open Windows Mail and it repeatedly asks me
to verify username and password, but not letting me download my email,
despite what I type in.

Frustrating or what?!?!

..

Mike,
Are you with three.com.au ?

If not then please start your own new thread and provide some detail, such
as the name of your ISP, the part after the @ in your email address.
Also copy and paste any error message that WM throws at you.

What is the part after the @ in your email address?
If not a three.com account then see point 10 in this .pdf document:

Just start a new thread and provide all YOUR detail of your problem, include
the error message and the part after the @ in your email address only, also
tell us your ISP, in other words, who do you pay for internet access.
It might also be helpful to tell us which Anti-Virus software you have
installed.

If you don't remember your password, then your first order of business
is to contact your mail service provider for help with that.
If you don't know who that is, what is the part of your email address
after the @ symbol?

Mike going crazy

I have been having the same problem. Here is the error message I am getting:

Account: 'pop.west.cox.net', Server: 'pop.west.cox.net', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR a user name MUST be entered', Port: 110, Secure(SSL):
No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC91

I have never had or entered a username or password for the email account.

If the problem is the same, then the solution is the same. If the previous
messages don't work for you then you should have created a new thread.

If your email did work, even once, then you definitely have an email
account; don't assume you did not because that is an invalid assumption. Who
set up your system? You need to get help from either them or cox.net.

What antivirus are you using? That might be the problem.

I went on line help from microsoft technial support got it fixed and resolved
other non related probles allso. back to the isue here. it has to do with
putting the corect servers address in the the acount. TOOLS/accounts/ciick
two times/click servers...
for cox users,
My incoming mail server is a; POP3 server
Incoming mail (POP3): pop.west.cox.net
Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.west.cox.net

I was told I could call my server to fix this problem also.
hope this helps
Guts
