Chris

I can recieve emails using windows mail but am unable to send. I keep
getting this message.
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject '', Account: 'pop3.knology.net', Server:
'smtp.knology.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:
0x800CCC0Fge.

I have tried everything under the help menu and everything that my email
account carrier has told me to do. What else can I do? Thanks!

Does that connection to the server go through more than one internet
provider's equipment on the way there? If so, such connections to
port 25 are often blocked to cause trouble for spammers.

Here are their instructions for setting up under Outlook Express.
They should also work under Windows Mail if you avoid the Click
Here at the top.

You may try using this form to ask for help. Such forms often reach
people other than those who answer the phone.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
