Hello,

You are not going to believe this. I can actually hear my memory chips
scream !

I was thinking about creating more file disks to prevent fragmentation. For
example by moving/storing all temporarely internet files in a special file
disk image.

I went to the following folder and scrolled really fast:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files

I noticed this low sound like there was some water under my mouse.

First I thought it was the mouse... I thought that's funny... I have a
squeeking mouse LOL.

Then I picked up move the mouse I tried everything to get rid off the
sound... then I figured out it's not the mouse !

It only happens when I scroll the window real fast.

The question is what's really producing the sound ?

All my speakers are disconnected so that can't be it... there even off !

So it must be something inside the case.

I think it are the memory chips or the processor...

Or maybe the creative x-fi is picking up interference..

Or maybe it's the harddisk's cache.

It's definetly not the harddisk's head or anything because that makes a
totally different sound and the led is off.

This is actually the first time I have heard a chip scream/squeek.

AMAZING !

WOW

Me go investigate further.

Today my house was cleaned... I am not sure if that has anything to do with
it !?!???

I never really scrolled a window that fast... so this is more or less a
first ;)

Bye,
Skybuck.

Yeah, right.

Do wot??? How will whatever that is prevent fragmentation? If the temp
internet files are in a disk image then presumably the browser won't be able
to get to them when it needs them, and therefore will just create new ones.

Yup.

I turned of the monitor to check if that was producing the squeeking...
turns out nope.

So it's definetly something inside the case.

Google for filedisk.

Quite cool ;)

turn down the LINE IN or the PC speaker volume from your mixer, AND move the
damn SB away from the monitor and case.

Oh, its a virtual drive, a bit like Daemon Tools or the one with Alcohol
120%, just that you can use individual files.
