Hyperlinks lost in Word 2003 to Word 2007 Conversion

I've recently converted 26 Word 2003 files (1 per letter of the alphabet) to
Word 2007, comprising about 1000 pages of text. Each document is full of
hyperlinks to the entries in the other 25 files and internal hyperlinks to
entries in the actual document (e.g. the "A" document has links to "B", "C",
etc and links to other parts of the "A" document).

When I converted the .doc files to .docx, the hyperlinks did not changeover.
Is there a way I can automatically convert all of the hyperlinks or do I
need to do it manually?

Assuming you did not change the filenames, press Alt+F9 to display the
HYPERLINK field codes. Then use Replace to replace .doc with .docx. If the
display text also includes the filename, you'll need to repeat the replace
with the field codes hidden.

Wow thank you! This has saved DAYS of work! I appreciate it so much! I am
jumping up and down bragging to my wife right now :)
