Hyperlinks in 2007 not working if saved to 2000/2003 format

When creating a document in Word 2007 and adding hyperlinks, this works fine
zhen saving it in 2007 fornat (docx). However, when saving the same document
in 2000/2003 coompatile format, the hyperlinks don't work anymore. That is,
the hyperlink information is "lost".

Simply saving to a different format shouldn't affect the hyperlinks. If you
press Alt+F9, do you still see the hyperlink fields (the command is a toggle)?
