hyperlink excel file in word

I have added a hyperlink in my Word document to an Excel file. As long as
the Excel file resides on our network, people with access to the network can
view the hyperlink.

How do I make the hyperlink available to people I email this form to who do
not have access to our network?

You cannot. The user must have access to the file location for the
hyperlink to work. You would have to place a copy of the file in a
publicly accessible location and link to that.

A Hyperlink won't give them access to the file unless they have access to the
network. You could certainly store the file in a more public location, or
perhaps you could insert the file itself into the Word Document. I think that
if you insert the entire file into the document that the recipient could
double-click the inserted object to edit it, or view it in it's native format.
