HTTP server on a LAN using ICS and Windows Firewall

I want to run Apache on a box on the LAN that is connected to the Internet
through ICS. The ICS host is running Windows Firewall. Can it be done? If so,
how?

Hi
ICS is a software Routing program. It has to be enabled on the computer with
the Internet connection. A Client computer that runs standard Ethernet and
can assume an IP within the range of ICS would be able to get to the
Internet.

On the ICS host, open ports in the Windows Firewall to forward
incoming connection requests to the computer that runs Apache.

1. Go to Control Panel > Security Center > Windows Firewall.

2. Click the Advanced tab.

3. Click the Internet connection, then click Settings.

4. Put a check mark in the "Web Server (HTTP)" box and specify the
name or IP address of the Apache server.

If the Apache server handles requests other than HTTP, create port
definitions and exceptions for them, too.

ICS is working just fine and i can access the web server from the ICS host,
but I can't seem to get the WAN to see the server. I've set a bunch of
different combinations in the ICS and firewall settings, but nothing worked.

I already tried that and every combination of server and hosts in ICS and in
the LAN and WAN firewall settings and nothing worked. Something is messed up,
obviously.

You're welcome.

Hi
I do not know how you are testing the WAN side. However if you do it through
the Internet it might be that your ISP is blocking the server's Ports.

Nothing is blocked. I can run HTTPD and FTPD on the box connected to the WAN
just fine.
