HTML mail

When i am on a website, and I click an email address to send mail, an HTML
Mail box comes up with no option to send the mail. Why? In outlook for
outlook express, whenver I clicked on an email link the email editor would
pop up and I could type out and send the mail. I am beginning to like
Windows mail less and less. In addition it is so slow. I invoke it to type
a new message and it takes forver to populate the screen. What is wrong with
this program?

I forgot to mention..

When you open Windows Mail you can configure how it opens by selecting VIEW
in the menu bar
and then selecting CURRENT VIEW and select SHOW ALL PROGRAMS..

Then select VIEW and open LAYOUT and select all but FOLDER LIST and see if
that is
easier to view..

My Windows Mail works instantaneously so I don't know the reason yours
operates so slowly.

Go to Tools/options/send and see what option you have for sending news. If
it is HTML, try changing it to the default TEXT.

There is a fix for the slowness:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/72674-windows-mail-slow.html

Regarding your other problem, this sounds like the MailTo protocol
needs to be assigned to Windows Mail:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
