sending mail from a link in a document

please help

whenver i attempt to send a mail using a link to an e-mail addy i get the
following error :

Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not
installed properly

Please tell me where to go and set it up.

whilst i know I can just type it in on a new mail message i would prefer to
go via the link.

Go to control panel | Default programs and make Windows Mail the default
there. Then see if it works.

When you select the default program make sure you clicked on the Choose
Defaults for this program and make sure you click on the mailto part for
WinMail.
