HTML conversions in XP reduce image quality

Adam Bell

We use PowerPoint as a process on our e-learning server to
convert PPTs into HTML. Each slide is converted to an
image and made available in HTML. If the version of PPT
on our server was 2000 all was fine. If we use PPT XP on
the server, the backgrounds on the slides get pixelated -
meaning there are literlly small dots on the slide image,
where there should not be. Other things in the slide look
fine - embedded screen shots come out ok. Its just the
background that gets messy.

Anyone have any ideas?

My guess is you are using backgrounds that include gradient color.
Try using a background with a single color and the 'aliasing' should
not occur, i.e use Power Points 'standard' background colors.
