HSP56 Modem

A clean install of winxp sp4, manu mobo & other drivers installed
The HSP56 modem is shown in devices as OK.
Query Modem returns OK, excepting no dial tone found.
The previous incarnation on win98se was ok
The line appears ok, two cables tried, no call waiting or msgs inturrupting
the dial tone.
Anything else to try, before I dig out another modem?

I've seen that quite often with that particular modem...
works fine in win98 but not at all in win2k (though it seems to install ok)

Try other drivers.

These are generic for all Pctel, including the modem risers. (conexant
bought pctel)
