I dont know if anyone can help me on this one. I recently ran low on
ink, the printer informed me of this but still kept printing. It then
suddenly started to pass the sheets of paper straight through without
printing. I have replaced both cartriges with genuine HP products but
the 'Align print heads' process fails since the machine just passes the
paper straight through without printing as before. Is this old baby on
the way out? Any help gratefully received.

sounds like it is not on the way out but it is out.
