HP USB DeskJet 5150 print failure

I'm running XP Pro and constantly recieve print failure
messages from printer after printing first page or during
printing process. Do I have a USB compatibility issue?
 
Welcome to my recent nightmare and revelation. You must also be aware that other attached devices on the USB hub want attention too. To improve performance remove their physical connection. Your Printer should begin to flow more smoothly.
 
Only the printer is connected to any of my USB port. But I have Pinnacle black box card installed on the system. I shall be glad if this 5150 printer failure is solved in XP. I also tried reinstalling the printer driver several times to no avail. Is there no solution to this intermittant problem with HP 5150 printer!
