HP LaserJet 1020

I am using XP Pro 2002 Service pak 2 - while trying to install the HP
LaserJet 1020, I am getting two messages - 1) The software you are installing
for this hardware - Printers - has not passed Windows Logo testing to
verfirty its compatibility with Windows XP (continuing your installation of
this software may impair or destablize the correct operation of your system
either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommeds that you
stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that
has passed Windows Logo testing). With choices being "Continue Anyway" or
"STOP installation", I selected STOP & Then 2) the Found New hardware wizard
says: There was a problem installing this harware. An error occurred during
the installation of the device. No signature was present in the subject. I
called HP and they said I must call Microsoft - they want $35.00 to talk. I
did go to the HP site and downloaded (just to file - not installed) the
driver for this printer - states that this is newer that the one that came in
the box with the printer, However, the Driver installation instructions seem
to only address -updating an existing driver. I'm afraid to try any of this
without some input on the warning statement in the error - "may impair or
destablize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the
future" Can anyone help? Thanks!
