HP Laserjet 1020 Installation

I just bought an HP Laserjet 1020 Printer and am having installation
difficulties.
I chatted with HP tech support who asked me to use the Windows Printer
Installation Wizard.
When I got to the "Select Port" pull down there were no USB port options
listed, only LPT and COMM.
The HP tech said this is a problem with my USB driver through DELL (I have a
DELL Inspiron 600m) however I don't have any problems with any USB dependent
devices. My IPOD, Flash Mem, etc work fine.
Does anyone no why there are no USB port options listed by the Windows
Printer installation wizard?

and you're not using the hp installation routine (which installs an hp
USB DOT4 port) because ...?
