HP all in one need scanner networked (still need help)

I post about this a few weeks ago and guess with all the RC1 posts it got
lost. I have posted this:

I have a HP 2610 and with the new RC1 build from Beta 2 I have a great
working printer now. The only thing I do not have is a working scanner. I
have it on my network I am just trying to figure out if there is any way to
get my scanner working for vista RC1.

I received this responce:

Try finding the scanner by entering the IP address of the scanner.

Also Make sure Printer Sharing is turned on under Network and Sharing
Center.

I have turned on Sharing but I still can not find out how to look it up by
the IP address I am getting this. I go to scanner and camera and it does
not list my scanner. So I click add
device and hit next. Then I get a list of HP scanner (mine not listed) and
a list of xerox. That is it. I can not find a option to look for it by the
IP address.

What am I missing on this so I can try to get my scanner to work or could I
even use one of the drivers that come with Vista? Thanks for any help on
this.

Usually your router is the best place to find IP addresses. In my Linksys
it's found under Status/Localnetwork/DHCPClientsTable. YMMV

I know the IP address of the printer and scanner but I can not find in Vista
on how to set it up by the IP address. When I go into loading the hardware
under scanner and camera I can not find a way to do it by the IP address it
is looking for it via USB.

Have you tried going in through Network and Sharing Center? That area is
what is designed to detect wireless devices. Seeing I have no wireless
devices on my system I can not verify it would pick it up but it may be
worth a try.

FWIW,
Len
