Ok. Here is what I am trying to do: I have two computers. They were on a
network where only shared files could be viewed. What I want to do is make
one of my computers the server from which my network will have access to. I
have already installed 2 ethernet adapters, one connecting to the DSL Modem
and one to the Network Hub. It is a Linksys 4 Port Router. The adapter that
the hub is connected to is showing as disconnected... Please just tell me how
would i make 1 computer the server and the other one a regular user. I plan
to add more computers to this network.

I just want to add that the computer I am using has to be the computer that
connects to internet throught the DSL Modem and the other has to be a client
computer.... :(

I've written a web page showing how to set up one computer as an
Internet connection sharing server and the others as clients:

Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing

But, I don't see why you would want to do that if you have a Linksys 4
Port Router. The router can connect to the DSL modem and share the
Internet between all the computers. Router-based Internet sharing is
easier to set up and more reliable than using a computer as an
Internet connection sharing server.

Please explain what you mean by "control all the computers on a
network." What do you want the server to do? What do you want the
clients to do?

I want the clients to only log on and use the computers while whatever they
save should be saved on my main computer. Basically... how do i make this
computer a server??
