How WMP looks up tag (AMG guide)?

I have a problem with WMP10 finding the media information
for me.

It is very strange. For example, I put the CD in, go to
RIP tab and all the information was fill in. The thing is
I do not use WMP10 to rip my CD, I use Exact Audio Copy
software to do that. So after I rip all the CD to mp3, I
put into WMP10 liabary and then use "Find Album Info" to
update the tag info (especailly for the composer field).
The search will result no matches found.! This only
happens to certain album, not all! usually best
of/greatest hits compliations that are 2 CD set.

I am sure the "All Music Guide" has the info because when
I put the CD in the rip section, WMP get all the info from
All Music Guide, why after I use another software to rip
the mp3 and import to WMP, they say no match find.

I double check and use the same album, artist, even the
track name is the same, still says cannot find album ( I
want WMP10 to update the composer field).

I am very frustrated with this, what logic WMP10 use to
find the info from All Music Guide? Do I have to fill
in "Catalog"number or something like that for WMP to find
the match?

Thanks

There have been more problems than usual lately with album lookup. I
provided WMP team with some detailed cases some weeks ago and have not
seen any improvements. In particular I noticed (1) albums that were once
there are gone; (2) English data has been replaced with Japanese data;
and (3) albums that cannot be found by searching on one paramater can be
found by searching on another.

It's a mess.

I see, so it is not just me! You are right, sometimes I
can find the album by searching the track and artist and
leave album name blank and the album show up!

I guess microsoft is working on it and hopefully will
soon be resolved.

Thanks
