I have Norton Internet Security installed on my Windows XP home edition laptop.
Ever since SP2 was installed without my consent, the Windows firewall comes
on at startup, and I have to manually turn it off in order to connect to the
Internet via my Apple Airport wireless network.
I don't need 2 firewalls and would prefer to use the NIS firewall but I
cannot find a way to permanently disable the Windows one--any suggestions??

Go to Start/Control Panel/Security Center
Under Manage security settings for: you will see a link for Windows Firewall
click on that link and turn it off there.
