Windows Firewall

I recently updated the Windows Svc Pk2 and much to my dismay the Firewall has
turned itself back on. I am currently using Norton and prefer to us Norton,
but cannot figure out how to turn the Windows Firewall off. No matter what I
do it still shows that it is on. Is anyone else out there experiencing this
problem and if so how do you permanently disable the blasted thing?

I don't know exactly what "Norton" means, since there are so many programs that start with the word 'Norton'. However, I do know that for 2005 versions of certain Norton-branded products, Symantec offered a special patch to make its software compatible with the new Windows Security Center. Could be that's what you're missing. Get it from the Symantec web site.
