How to turn off low ink warning on printer

Hi to all,,,,,,,,Could someone help please,,,I have a hp photosmart c5280
and I have refilled the ink cartridge.
The question is: how can I reset or turn off the low ink warning that keeps
flashing up.

My understanding from my HP printer experience is that when the
cartridge runs low enough to flag as low, some electronics inside the
cartridge are triggered/set to warn you.

Refilling the cartridge does not/cannot reset this electronic
mechanism, so the cartridge will continue to show empty as long as the
ink monitor portion of your software is running (so turn it off) or
replace the cartridge with a brand new one - factory preferred of
course.

I have one I only use mostly for black printing and I just refill. $9
around here for black.

There is a way to turn off the message and the monitor, but don't know
what it is for your printer. Somebody else might though.

There is a firmware signature in those cartridges to let the printer
know the same cartridge has been re-inserted. However, from what I've
read, if you cycle through 3 cartridges then the rollover buffer
holding the signature will no longer contain the old signature and the
old refilled cartridge will look like a new one.

Other than when using the printer's driver to do a print job, the only
other way a popup could appear announcing a low-ink condition is that a
program is running in the background. HP normally installs their
Toolbox utility to load on startup. You can see it in msconfig.exe's
Startup tab (where you could disable it).

He stated that he refilled the ink cartridge.

What did HP Support tell you when you asked them about this?

If he calls HP, they will tell him to purchase a new cartridge. He needs to uninstall that
crappy HP software that warns him of low ink.

on mine, hp1600 it takes 5 carts to cycle thru before it loses track on a
used cart, and then I can only fill them 5 times, it refuses to use them
again the 6th time.
also it's tricky, you have to cover part of the contacts with tape, it's
best to buy a refill kit for your printer, it will give you details on how to
refill and etc. if your carts can be refilled.

HP and others follow the Gillette business model: Give away the razor and
sell the blades (or give away the 'phone and sell the minutes).

You can get a small device, about $3.00, that will reset the integrated
circuit board on the ink cartridge. Look on Ebay for your cartridge and
re-fill supplies.

We've reset the cartridges for Epson printers dozens of times.
