My device manager under USB Controllers has
among other listings:
3 Universal Host Controllers
1 USB 2.0 Root Hub, driver date 2/1/02. but the
details make ref to SP2 so I suppose its current
there's also
3 USB Root Hubs driver date 7/1/01 and with
no reference to SP1 or SP2 in the driver details.

I have 4 usb physical ports on the back and
two on the front.

Can I ascertain from the above, or from some
other way, whether all 6 of my USB connectors
support USB 2.0?

In your Device Manager, there should be an Enhanced USB Controller under the
Universal Serial Bus controller.

Right click each Root Hub in turn
Properties (Power will tell you the devices using it) - the Drivers
page, Driver details, and USB 2.0 driver is usbehci.sys
