How to stop Word asking to save the template

On some computers in our office, whenever a document is saved, Word also asks
if the user wants to save the template. Why does this happen and how can it
be turned off?
 
Hi Anne, This would be in the default settings of how to save the document
and that's why each computer is different. In Word, Tools, Options, File Save
tab, down the bottom it asks which format to save the document. Be sure it
reads Word (*.doc)

This usually only happens if the user is making changes to the document's underlying template. Since these changes will affect all
documents created from that template, it's probably a good thing. Nevertheless, if you want to suppress this message for changes to
the 'Normal' template, see under Tools|Options|Save.
