How to stop a sync

I have a mapped drive to a network location and "always available is grayed
out" so i am unable to remove this
I have another mapped drive for my home folder and this is working properly.
I can sync both without errors
Does not seem to have the same 'folder options' as in XP where one can reset
the cache
"always available offline" appears for the home folder but not for the other.
I tried disconnecting the mapped drive, but that did not work

addendum:
i receive an error message when trying to rename a folder, that I "must be
connected to the network to complete this operation", but I AM !
