how to share a scanner like a printer on win2k

How can i share a usb scanner, like a usb printer for
others user on my workfroup.

Since they need to walk to where the scanner is anyway, just tell them
to save the file over the network to their computer.

If you're talking about a home consumer grade flatbed USB or
parallel
port scanner, you can't. In general, input devices cannot be shared
over a
network.

HP, Canon, Xerox, Oce, Kyocera Mita, and other companies
manufacture
network capable scanners (They're actually multi-function devices that
also
copy, print, and sometimes fax and e-mail) and the requisite
specialized
software. The cost of such devices usually starts somewhere below
$10,000.00 USD.
