I have an application whose window will maximize but the restore only
miminizes. How can I get the restore to go back to regular restore
behavior? To clarify, there are only two states I can get the window in -
maximize or minize (b/c restore also minimizes).

Thanks,
Brett

See if resetting the folder settings helps:
"Your view settings or customizations for a folder are lost or
incorrect" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813711).

Sounds your app is misbehaving and restoring itself to a position outside of your display. Try the following:

1) With the app open and 'restored', and at least one other app open, right-click the taskbar & select 'Cascade Windows'. This will often bring the window back into view.

If that doesn't work, try:

2) With the app open, 'restored', and having the focus as the foreground window, type <Alt>+<Spacebar> and then 'M'. Then search the edges of your screen for remnants of the mouse cursor. If it's on the left, press and hold the right arrow key, if on the top, press down arrow key. This should bring the window back into view.

Thanks. The first one worked - with cascading the windows. I had to first
maximize it. Restore is now an option for me. Before it was always grayed
out.

You're welcome. Glad it's fixed.
