How to remove stubborn Non-Plug and Play drivers (Dev. Manager)?

I have the following problem on Windows XP Pro SP2.

I used to have Silicon Image PCI IDE controller with CMD680
chipset on my computer.

This card installs the following things as part of its drivers:

Device Manager
Non-Plug and Play drivers
+ SIL 680 ATA Controller
+ Silicon Image SIL 0680 Medley Raid controller

Now, I've long since physically removed that PCI card from my
computer.

I've tried deleting the drivers in device manager when logged
in as an administrator.

I've tried the same in safe mode.

I've tried disabling them.

I've tried putting them from 'boot' mode into other modes.

Nothing works, they always stay enabled and installed, regardless
of how many times I try to disable/remove them.

I am 100% sure there are no other SIL680 based controllers in
my system.

I don't need those drivers.

How can I get rid of them for once and for all (without reformatting
and re-installing)?
