how to remove Office icon in the taskbar notification area

I am using Microsoft Office 2003 Professional with Windows XP Professional.
I notice Office 2003 with Outlook etc, appears in the taskbar notification
area.
How to I remove these annoying poping icons?

Thank you.
 
Summary: right click notification area, select property, click hide, click
customize, select item, then select hide. Thank you.
 
But, why Microsoft allow users to stop the taskbar notification icon to
appear?

Huh? They do allow you to keep it from appearing.
